How To Play

  • Tap “Start” to begin the game.
  • Numbered bubbles float up from sand at the bottom of the sea, signaling the start of a new game.
  • Tap on bubbles with “Composite Numbers” (numbers you can reduce to factors). As you factor them, you’ll hear a pleasing popping sound and your score will go up by the values on the bubbles you popped.
  • Keep tapping until bubbles are broken all the way down to their prime numbers.
  • Let prime number bubbles float to the top — don’t tap them. As each prime number gets to the top, it makes another satisfying popping sound and disappears. Primes raise your score by their values when they reach the top.
  • Why shouldn’t you tap on prime number bubbles? If you do, you’ll hear a clanging sound, and the prime bubble will darken and fall to the bottom, lowering your score.
  • As your score gets higher, playful sea critters appear. Sometimes they help you, but most of the time they are up to mischief. You can tap them to change what they do, and you can tap the water near bubbles and critters to make waves that move them around.
  • What happens if a non-prime “composite” number escapes to the top before you pop it? It turns reddish, makes an annoying sound, and it’s too late to factor it. When five composites escape to the top, the round ends.
  • You can remove composite bubbles that made it to the top by correctly factoring a different bubble with the same number, so pay extra attention looking out for those numbers. The game is programmed to give you second chances at numbers that you miss.
  • After the round, if your score is one of the five highest, you can choose a critter for its symbol. Then start playing again.
  • Bubbles seem to float up slowly at the start of a round, but as your scores get higher, more bubbles and more critters arrive faster, and the play gets very exciting. Be prepared to focus deeply as you become an advanced player.

  • While having fun playing Bubbly Primes, you’ll memorize prime numbers and factors, improve your mental focus, achieve higher mastery of “number sense,” and feel more comfortable when faced with math tests and quizzes.
  • The more you play, the better you get!
